At Bidvest Insurance, we understand that water is more than just a resource, it’s life itself. In South Africa, many rural communities still face the daily struggle of water scarcity, and school children are often the most affected. That’s why we’ve made a commitment to support rural schools. Every year, we identify and support at least one rural school that does not have reliable access to clean water.
This year, Emacabazini Primary School in Bulwer was selected as the beneficiary. To make sure the school has a dependable supply of clean water, we funded installation of a new water tank, set up a rooftop rainwater harvesting system, and repaired the broken gutters so every drop of rain could be captured. We also linked the school’s existing water tank to improve collection and covered the cost of the initial municipal water fill — ensuring that the taps could start flowing right away.
Guided by our promise to Be Kind, we turned care into practical support that will make a daily difference for the children and their teachers.
