On Friday 12th October, our Commercial Insurance team took off to attend and participate in the 2018 FIA Summit. We were really looking forward to the FIA summit as it’s such a beneficial event to the industry as a whole! It’s an educational day where one can really learn a lot about what’s happening in the different areas of our industry and it also provides such a great networking platform. On top of these factors, it was also our first FIA Summit as a partner of the FIA.
For the event, we were fortunate enough to team up with an amazing South African legend – Derek Watts. Derek attended the event as our guest speaker and he really resonated with the room as he spoke on the history of Carte Blanch; from its beginnings in 1988 to today and how technology has changed over the past 30 years. In between speakers, Derek could be found at our Bidvest Insurance stand, having some fun and connecting with those in attendance by letting them see how they measure up next to him (Derek stands at a whopping height of 1.98m). Those who visited our stand, who were Bidvest Insurance clients, were given an extra ‘step up’ to stand above the rest.
It was a fantastic day and a big thank you needs to go out to the FIA and CN&CO, for putting on such a well organized event. And also to all the speakers on the day for sharing their thoughts and insights into an industry that has some really exciting times ahead!
